Transferring your Domain from your current domain registrar to your Client Management Account can be a somewhat complicated and frustrating process. Unfortunately, the domain transfer process is purposely designed to be difficult.

Video Tutorial Helps are available by using the menu on the left and clicking the links.

Note:
Certain requirements must be completed before any Domain can transfer successfully. If any detail in this transfer process is incorrectly executed, the process will fail and you will be required to restart the transfer process from the beginning. Successfully transferring your Domain depends on meeting all the conditions required by your current domain registrar.

Before you can authorize a Domain transfer from your current registrar to your Client Management Account, you must prepare the Domain and purchase a Domain Transfer Request.

The Domain to be transferred has to have been registered with your current registrar for at least 60 days and it must also have an "Active" status.

Expired domains must be renewed with your current registrar before attempting the transfer process. Transferring domains that are set to expire during the transfer process may cause the process to fail.

Use the following helps for transferring your Domain from your current registrar to your Client Management Account.

The Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) requires accredited registrars to publish the registrant's contact information, domain creation and expiration dates and other information in the WHOIS record as soon as a domain is registered. Click here to review ICANN's Transfer Policy.

1. Prepare to Transfer Your Domain
Access the WHOIS database and enter your Domain Name to review the record's information as correct and current, especially the registrant administrative contact (admin) record. Confirm that your email address information is correct.

Both the current registrar and the new (receiving) registrar use this administrator (admin) email address to send you important information and instruction for your transfer. Click here for more information on updating your Domain's WHOIS database record.

Note:
Transfer Requests are initiated by the receiving registrar and then confirmed by contacting you by email.

If your Domain has any domain privacy protection feature (or private registration) that hides your personal information from the public, you will not be able to verify your registrant and administration (admin) email address using the WHOIS database.

Prior to starting the transfer process, any domain privacy protection feature that your Domain may have must be disabled and the email contact information on the domain needs to be current and correct.

If you are using a domain privacy protection feature, you must either access your domain records at your registrar's website using your account access to review this information or you should contact your current registrar to cancel the privacy protection feature so you can review your Domain's WHOIS record. If necessary, update the email address.

2. Unlock your Domain at your current registrar using account access or by contacting your current registrar.

3. Obtain a transfer key (an authorization code) from your current registrar.
Obtain an Extensible Provisioning Protocol (EPP) code or transfer key (an authorization code) from your current registrar. The EEP code may be called an auth code, a transfer secret, an authentication code, a transfer key or an authorization code.

Some domain name extensions, specifically, country-code top-level domain names (ccTLDs) do not require an authorization code. Some registrars display the authorization code in your Domain's access account and some registrars upon request, email this code to the administrative contact (admin) email address.

Click here for more information on obtaining a transfer key or an authorization code to transfer your Domain.

4. Purchase a Domain Transfer Request
You may purchase a Domain Transfer Request by accessing your ZDiQ Client Management Account. After purchasing the Domain Transfer Request, we will send an email message to your Domain's administrative contact (admin).

This email will contain the Transfer IDs (transaction ID and security code) you will need to authorize the transfer to your Client Management Account.
